The MTC-400 Ultra-Precision Turning Machine is equipped with a natural granite base arranged
in a “T” configuration. In addition, both the slides and spindle are mounted to a granite base.
The hydrostatic bearing X-Axis, is equipped with a work holder
spindle that relies on aerostatic bearing technology, allowing for work piece diameters of
up to 800mm (31.5").
As an optional feature, a tool measuring system
is integrated into the X-axis.
A rotation table with hydrostatic bearing technology (B-Axis) is mounted to the
Z-axis, which is also equipped with a hydrostatic bearing. The B-axis
allows for 360° of rotation and includes an optional process camera.
The two slide axes of the MTC-400 Ultra-Precision machine
are driven by linear motors and the rotational axis uses a torque motor.
This 3-Axis configuration allows for single point machining.
Through the use of diamond tools, surfaces can be achieved with optical
quality for a wide range of crystals, non-ferrous metals and polymers.
